Joel Hodgson’s Kickstarter campaign to bring back the TV cult classic Mystery Science Theater 3000 broke records earlier this year, but up until know it still wasn’t clear where the 14 new episodes he was making would end up. Today we have an answer: Netflix.

The service announced the news via a simple tweet today, around the same time a panel for the new MST3K was kicking off at San Diego Comic-Con. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix will be the home for the series in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition, it’s been revealed that Community creator Dan Harmon and Joel McHale will be writers on the new episodes, with The Daily Show‘s Elliott Kalan serving as head writer.

The 14 new episodes will star Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt as the two new mad scientists, with comedian Jonah Ray serving as the hapless schmuck stuck in the Satellite of Love. If that sounds a little bit like insane gibberish, perhaps it’s time to cover the basic concept of MST3K. The premise of the show is that two mad scientists have sent a hapless worker — originally played by Hodgson — into outer space, where he is forced to watch terrible movies and riff on them alongside his robot companions as part of a nefarious experiment. (Yes, yes, I know what you’re thinking, but trust me on this: the formula absolutely worked.)

There’s still no word on exactly when the new episodes will be released, but until then I recommend dialing up the Gamera episode of the original series, and then blocking out plenty of free time in your schedule. Once you dive down the MST3K rabbit hole, you’re not going to want to stop.
